[Tonsilectomy]

Merry Christmas to me! So I finally went to a specialist to have him take a look at me.  I gave him my Illness history and told him about my throat. He took one look at my throat and said. "Time to get your tonsils out." I guess that was kinda what we were hoping for,  but secretly in my mind I was hoping there was just like a magical pill that would cure everything....yeah....right. It will be so nice to not be getting sick all the time but he told me to plan on being out of commission for 14 days! 14 days! Its going to be hell. Everyone I talked to at work today told me horror stories and has made me even more scared, but then my amazing cousin told me she lost 15lbs from getting hers out! So that's pretty positive.  The nurse took me back to the calender to pick a day for surgery and were thinking sometime in December., but the downside is that we will have to put our trip to Hawaii off in January to be able to pay for the surgery,  hopefully we'll be able to work something out but it looks like getting my tonsils out just got put first on the list. Boo. We were also kinda planning on trying for a baby next spring but I don't know about that either now. Kinda sucks. But its been 2 weeks and I'm just barley starting to get better. I'm so over being sick.

  1. Ugh....just reading about it makes me kind of hurt for you, but it will be ok! I wanted to get mine out, and I'm so glad I did, but it is going to hurt. I had my mom-in-law help me with Chloe for 7 days and then I had to do it by myself....and it hurt, but I think 14 days is a good estimate to have people bring you soup, popsicles, etc! And get REFILLS of your meds before you run out of them because you do not want a space of time that you feel that pain!
