The Huish's had a pretty darn good year! We defiantly had some amazing ups and some really hard downs. But thats what makes life beautiful right? I think so. We had a great summer, playing with friends and swimming! One down that we had was my Grandmother passing away in June. It was really really hard. Kinda my first experience with death. The amazing thing was being with family and knowing we were going to see her again. I love you grandma.
My brother leaving on his mission kind of a up/down all in one. I think anyone who has a child or a sibling leave on a mission knows what I mean. Then, my sister Madi came home from her mission which was AWESOME! Its been so great to have her home. Then, of course Hawaii. Ahhh just amazing!! Cant wait to go back!!!
We had a great New Years! Very different then any other New Years we've had together. We usually have a big party with Mckays family and extended family, or with mine. This year it was really low key, we went to Frozen again which B obviously LOVES!! Then went and hung out with our besties! We watched fireworks and played with the kiddos. And of course, were too old to stay up and party so we left and put Bostyn to bed and Mac and I just snuggled, talked, & cooked a pizza at home. It was actually soooooooo nice!! New Years Day was the same way. The 3 of us did a little shopping at the mall, got some milk shakes, and went home and watched a movie. I liked doing something different and being in my own house.
And of course, when you think of New Years you think of Resolutions/Goals. And it seem that every year I have awesome ideas of things I want to do differently through the next year but then they fade really quick…like really quick. So I kinda don't take is seriously. But This year its for reals! Mac and I actually sat down together and talked about a lot of them, because most of them are goals that involve both of us, some I have on my own. My big one that I wanted to be serious about was working out, which I got a jump start on in Novemer. I started going to spin class at 4:30 AM with my mother in law Mon-Fri. She is crazy!! But I knew I wouldn't do it unless I had someone to go with, so she picks me up every morning for it and I've done it the last 2 months! So It was a great head start for my 2014 fitness goals.
2014 Goals (Ashley & Mckay)
Crack down harder on our budget
Get me a Car
Finish School
Get a home/Build (defiantly wont happen till the end of the year)
Be more patient with each other
Better at reading the Scriptures/ Family Prayer/ Family Home Evening
My 2014 Goals
Take even more Photos of our daily life
Cleaner eating
Read more. (Books)
Spend more one on one time with Bostyn
I have a few other personal goals for this year, but some I'm keeping to my self. Our plans haven't changed too much. Were still living in orem in the house….were hopefully going to try to stay here as long as were welcome. The thought of moving out in to an apartment or condo is making me want to throw up…. going from something so big, to something small again…. and also, we would be getting or building a house shortly after so I really don't want to move more then once within the next year.
Mac just has a few semesters left at UVU so he should be done by the end of the year, then he will be taking over the family business with his brother.
We are ready for another awesome year! Excited for our plans but also for the unknown.
Bring it on 2014!!
